How we approach laser hair reduction
Laser targets pigment in the hair follicle during its active growth phase. Since only a proportion of follicles are in that phase at any time, a course of sessions is needed — which is exactly why single-session promises should be treated with scepticism.
Skin tone matters. Deeper skin needs wavelengths and settings that protect surrounding pigment, which is why a dermatologist-supervised setting is safer than a fixed salon protocol. A test patch is used where appropriate.
Some hair is hormonally driven, particularly on the female face. In those cases, laser without addressing the hormonal cause leads to disappointing regrowth, so the assessment comes first.
What the first consultation involves
Skin tone, hair type, medical history and any hormonal symptoms are assessed, the realistic number of sessions is explained, and a test patch is performed where appropriate.
