How we approach skin growth removal
Most skin growths are benign, but some need closer assessment — a mole that has changed in size, shape or colour, a lesion that bleeds or itches persistently, or a growth that has appeared quickly. Examination comes first, always.
Removal technique is chosen for the lesion type, its depth and its site. Small tags and warts are straightforward procedures; lesions on the face are planned with the cosmetic outcome in mind, and some are best referred for histopathology.
Viral warts deserve a word of caution: they can recur, and can spread with picking or self-treatment. Recurrence risk is explained honestly before treatment rather than afterwards.
What the first consultation involves
Each lesion is examined, dermoscopy is used where helpful, and the appropriate technique — or the need for further assessment — is explained before anything is treated.
