General information only
Every clinical page on this website is written for general education and reviewed by Dr. Apurva Preetam Raut, MBBS, FCPS (Dermatology & Venereology), Maharashtra Medical Council registration 2016/07/1758. It describes how conditions are commonly assessed and treated. It is not a diagnosis, and it is not a treatment plan for you.
Why an examination matters
Skin conditions that look similar can have different causes, and the right treatment for one can worsen another. Pigmentation, hair loss and acne in particular need an in-person examination and, sometimes, tests before a plan can be made. Please do not use this website to self-diagnose or to decide on a treatment.
Medicines and procedures
Prescription medicines named on this site are mentioned only to explain how conditions are treated. They should be used only when prescribed for you after a consultation. Over-the-counter steroid creams and skin-lightening products are a frequent cause of harm and should not be used without medical supervision.
Results vary
Session counts, recovery times and degrees of improvement described on this site are typical ranges observed in practice. Individual responses differ, and no result can be promised or guaranteed.
When to seek urgent care
Seek immediate medical attention for a rapidly spreading rash, severe swelling of the face, lips or tongue, widespread blistering or peeling, fever with a rash, or any reaction that follows starting a new medicine. Do not wait for a routine appointment or an online reply.
