Understanding customised laser packages
Standardised packages assume everyone's hair behaves the same way. In practice, session numbers vary with hair thickness, skin tone, hormonal factors and the specific areas involved.
Planning starts with what is actually bothering you. Some patients want a single area; others want several combined into one appointment to save time.
You are told upfront what is included, how many sessions are estimated, and what happens if you need more — before any commitment is made.
This may suit you if
- Patients wanting multiple areas treated on one schedule
- Those unsure how many sessions they need
- Pre-wedding plans with a defined timeline
What happens at the clinic
- 1
Consultation
Areas, skin tone, hair type and any hormonal factors are assessed, and a test patch is done where appropriate.
- 2
Plan and estimate
A session estimate and schedule are set out clearly, including what maintenance is likely to involve.
- 3
Treatment course
Sessions proceed at the spacing appropriate for each area, with settings adjusted as tolerance is established.
- 4
Review
Progress is reviewed through the course, and the plan is extended or reduced based on actual response.
Aftercare
- Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen on treated areas
- No waxing, threading or plucking between sessions — shave instead
- Skip sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths for 48 hours
- Avoid scrubs, retinoids and perfumed products on treated skin for a few days
Possible side effects
- Redness and mild swelling around follicles for a few hours
- Temporary darkening or lightening of the skin, more likely in deeper skin tones
- Rare blistering or burns if settings or aftercare are inappropriate
- Incomplete reduction where hair is light, fine or hormonally driven
