Understanding full body laser hair reduction
Treating the whole body in a single appointment keeps every area on the same schedule, which is simpler to plan and avoids the mismatch of areas being at different stages of their course.
Different body sites have different hair cycles and thickness, so settings are adjusted area by area within the same session. Coarser areas often respond faster in visible terms than fine-haired ones.
A realistic conversation about time and number of sessions happens before you begin, because full-body courses are a commitment of several months.
This may suit you if
- Patients wanting multiple areas treated together
- Frequent full-body waxing with irritation or ingrowns
- Pre-wedding preparation with sufficient lead time
- Those who prefer fewer, longer appointments
What happens at the clinic
- 1
Assessment and planning
Areas are mapped, skin tone assessed and a test patch performed where appropriate. Session length and course duration are explained.
- 2
Preparation
All areas are shaved beforehand. Privacy, draping and a female doctor and staff are standard.
- 3
Systematic treatment
Areas are treated in sequence with settings adjusted for each site, with cooling applied throughout.
- 4
Aftercare and next visit
Soothing care is applied, aftercare is explained in writing, and the next session is scheduled.
Aftercare
- Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen on treated areas
- No waxing, threading or plucking between sessions — shave instead
- Skip sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths for 48 hours
- Avoid scrubs, retinoids and perfumed products on treated skin for a few days
Possible side effects
- Redness and mild swelling around follicles for a few hours
- Temporary darkening or lightening of the skin, more likely in deeper skin tones
- Rare blistering or burns if settings or aftercare are inappropriate
- Incomplete reduction where hair is light, fine or hormonally driven
