Q-Switched Laser in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Q-Switched laser delivers extremely short, high-energy pulses that shatter pigment particles without heating surrounding skin significantly. It is used for pigmentation, sun spots, tattoo removal and low-fluence laser toning, with wavelength and settings chosen for the target and your skin tone.

Sessions

Discrete pigmented lesions may need one to three sessions. Laser toning courses run six to eight sessions two to four weeks apart. Tattoo removal typically needs eight or more sessions six to eight weeks apart.

Downtime

Toning usually has none. Targeted treatment can cause temporary darkening and fine crusting of the treated spot for about a week.

Understanding q-switched laser

Q-Switching produces pulses measured in nanoseconds. Because the energy is delivered faster than pigment can transfer heat to nearby tissue, pigment particles fragment while surrounding skin is comparatively spared — the principle that makes the device suitable for deeper skin tones when used correctly.

The same device serves different purposes at different settings. High-energy, targeted pulses treat tattoo ink and discrete sun spots. Low-fluence passes across a whole area are used for laser toning in pigmentation.

Fragmented pigment is then cleared gradually by the body, which is why results appear over weeks and why sessions are spaced accordingly.

This may suit you if

  • Sun spots, freckles and discrete pigmented lesions
  • Tattoo removal
  • Diffuse facial pigmentation, using laser toning settings
  • Selected melasma cases, cautiously and alongside topical treatment

What happens at the clinic

  1. 1

    Diagnosis and settings

The target is identified and the appropriate wavelength, energy and spot size are chosen for your skin type.

  2. 2

    Protection and preparation

Eye protection is worn by everyone in the room. Topical anaesthesia is used for higher-energy treatments.

  3. 3

    Treatment

Pulses are delivered to the target area. A snapping sensation is typical; whitening of treated spots may be seen immediately.

  4. 4

    Aftercare and spacing

Cooling, soothing care and sunscreen are applied, and the next session is spaced according to the indication.

Aftercare

  • Strict daily sun protection on treated areas
  • Do not pick crusts — let them separate naturally
  • Keep the area clean and moisturised as advised
  • Pause actives such as retinoids for a few days

Possible side effects

  • Transient redness, swelling or pinpoint bleeding
  • Temporary darkening before clearing
  • Hypo- or hyperpigmentation, more likely in deeper skin tones
  • Rarely, scarring if aftercare is neglected
